New Video Instruction Coming March 1st, 2010!

Beginning in March 2010, a small team of advanced snare drummers will join with snarescience.com to release one instructional video per week. Be sure to subscribe to the snarescience youtube channel to get all the updates. Also, take a minute to check out the awesome preview video.

And Now to Introduce the Video Instruction Team...

Colin "PhantomPhan89" Hughes

Colin Hughes grew up in Priceville, AL. He started drumming in 2005 when he joined the marching band in his high school and graduated in 2007. Colin marched with the Atlanta CorpsVets in 2008 playing rack in the front ensemble, and marched in the snareline at Memphis Sound in 2009. Colin is currently attending the University of North Alabama and is majoring in Music Education with an emphasis on Percussion. Colin is also on the snareline of the UNA "Pride of Dixie" marching band.

Colin "SpaceJam" Pagel

Collin has been involved with marching percussion since high school, where he participated in marching band from 2002 through 2005 playing in various sections. Collin was a charter member of Tyler Junior College's indoor snare line in 2007 (PIO Finalist) and also in 2008 (PIO World Champions). In 2008, he was the center snare at Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps from Jacksonville, AL. For his age out season, Collin marched snare with Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, OH.

J.P. "jaga5" Gagaza

J.P. Gagaza began music at an early age playing piano, and has participated in various marching, concert, and orchestral ensembles throughout high school and college. J.P.'s marching experience includes the 2006 Metro Alliance Indoor Percussion Ensemble (Bass), 2007 and 2010 Tyler Junior College Indoor Percussion Ensemble (Snare), 2007 Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps (Tenors), 2008 Surround Sound Indoor Percussion Ensemble (Bass), 2008 Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (Tenors), and The 2009 and 2010 Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps where he is aging out as center snare.

Kevin "Bush Snare KT" Troyanos

Kevin began his marching career with the White Plains High School marching band from White Plains, New York. Receiving the John Philip Sousa Award upon graduation, he joined up with the Rutgers University Drumline marching both in the snare line as well as the quad line. Kevin is a current member of the 6-time DCA Champion Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps, having marched in the "All Star" snare line of 2008, and then again in 2009 as section leader of the Quad Line. Kevin's teaching experience includes the Percussion Caption Head position with the well respected NJ State Champion Edison High School Marching Band and Indoor Program. He also specializes in private instruction, both online and off. Known for his mathematical and analytical background, Kevin strives to bring the scientific method as well as cutting-edge educational methods through the use of technology to the forefront of Marching Percussion. He is currently studying Mathematics at the University at Buffalo.

Neil "AjaxHammer" Hoang

Neil Hoang grew up in Mansfield, Texas where he first started his percussion career at the age of 11. Neil is currently in his second year as a member of the Mansfield Legacy High School's snareline(Texas State Finalist) and is also in his first year as a member of the Surround Sound indoor drum line(PIW Finalist). In 2008 and 2009, he recieved back to back 4th place placings at the Lone Star Classic Drumline Individuals Competition as a freshman and a sophomore in high school. He is now 16 years old and hopes to continue his percussion career with much success.

Nick "Taco" Edwards

Nick is a graduate of Park High School and a current member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps returning for his second year, as snare section leader. Nick also currently marches with the Twin Cities Area Percussion Ensemble (TCAI) where he has been the snare section leader for the last three years. He got his start in Drum and Bugle Corps at the age of fourteen with a DCA senior corps, Chops Incorporated where he marched for five years. Nick has also marched with The Govenaires and The Minnesota Vikings professional Drumline, the “Skol Line”. As an instructor, Nick is currently the Co-Caption head of the Harding (MN) High School drumline, in his second year as a Snare technician with Champlin Park (MN) High School, and is also in his Second year with River Falls, WI Marching Band program, as Percussion Caption Head.

Taylor "MadCoSnareLine" Sexton

Taylor Sexton is an 18 year old senior at Madison County High School in his hometown of Danielsville, Georgia. He has been involved in concert percussion since middle school and started his marching percussion career as a bass drummer for the Madison County High School drum line as a freshman. Since then he has marched the Atlanta CorpsVets Drum & Bugle Corps (2008 - Snare) and the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps (2009 & 2010 Current Member - Snare).
