What are everyone's favorite Bass heads?
Which do you prefer, muffled or unmuffled?
1 ply or 2 ply?
And of course, Evans or Remo?
My personal favorites are the Evans MX1 white series, but I'm curious to hear from everyone else.

My school uses Remo Ebony Ambassadors and they sound pretty good. We muffle with a foam strip around the edge, on the inside of the shell (muffling outside looks awful imo)

Depends on the drums, but usually for tonals I go for the Evans Mx2 because they have more attack to them rather than resonance, where as with 1 ply at times it would be too much, and the 2 ply gives the drum it's own distinct voicing. Also from my experience Evans are more durable when it comes to bass heads.

With the Remos, the last time we broke a bass head was at BOA San Antonio two years ago. Our bass 2 had to finish the rest of the show with one handLee clary wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2017 11:07 amDepends on the drums, but usually for tonals I go for the Evans Mx2 because they have more attack to them rather than resonance, where as with 1 ply at times it would be too much, and the 2 ply gives the drum it's own distinct voicing.
