How to approach all tuplets??

I'm having trouble where to start with all tuplets. Like where to start and play exercises?? I'm having trouble and getting frustrated with myself :/ how do I practice 5let 6lets 7lets 9lets??? And the counting is just so confusing! :/ please help!! Thanks!!

6-lets are way easier than you think. It's essentially two triplets back to back. I'd suggest starting with those and be very, very comfortable with them before you move onto the others.

Also with any other form of tuplet try using words or phrases to count them. For 5lets I use "hippopotamus" (five syllables) and for 7lets I use "apple pie tiramisu" (seven syllables)

Phrases are the way to go

Also MET MET MET - it is essential while working on tuplets to check them against standard groupings

ex. when working on 5lets I make sure to play up and down to them 1 count 8th note triplet - 1 count of 16ths - 1 count of 5lets and backwards from there - it is imperative that your hands differentiate the space between notes for the grouping
