They've sll grown up watching princess movies where the prince comes and sweeps the princess away. It's what probably happened to their mothers..it's just the way our culture has raised everyone to behave. It's starting to be less like that..but it'll be a while before that's extremely widespread.

Nut up and ask her out. (not to sound like too much of a *beep* haha)
Plus, try visualizing a movie in which a male is locked up in a tower and a woman defeats dragons, goblins, knights, and travels to Hell and back to rescue the male. It probably stems from the fact that from the dawn of civilization, men were of a higher social status than women. They're muscular, big, and have deeper voices. Also status of women tends to be correlated to development level of a country. Men have the say of 'okay, I want this female to be my mate' and they engage the relationship. Men impregnate, and women only give birth. And think about it. In 10,000 BC, there's no such thing as Plan B. If a man gets it on with you, you're going to have a baby, period. So really, the males are in charge of continuation of the species.

I'm blaming Disney.

Long distance is easier than you would think if the other person is just really freakin awesome. That is all.

Truth^ As long as shes not a sneaky bitch or a whore long distance can actually be pretty great. For me it made both of us really appreciate each other and the time we spent together a whole lot more. Unfortunately people change and the long distance became a killer in our case. But yeah if shes awesome then it's not so bad.

Why do girls say "I love you" on like the second day of dating? I feel that more often than not, the feeling is unrequited. At least for me anyway. I usually feel very attracted to them but not neccesarily in love.

No one is in love after two days..that isn't how it works

I don't know your situation, but how long have you guys known each other? I knew my girlfriend for years before we started dating and we had feelings for each other for a long time, so we were pretty comfortable with the big 3 early in the relationship.

Oh, I'm just speaking from experience and observations. My last relationship was freshman year.

And in your situation, it's cool but I'm talking about couples that haven't known each other for very long.

Same here as well. I haven't played the dating game in quite some time though, so I'm not sure if I'm actually picking up signs/vibes, making something out of nothing, or just completely wrong.

Sighs...

This^ dude..... I feel you

Found a great girl in my first period. She'll smile at me and we'll talk but I don't know if she's being friendly or if there's something really there. I'm not sure if I should take the risk and go for it or just play it safe

Yea I'm just giving it more time. I mean, I'm going to be around her all summer on tour, so you know, bonding through trial and whatnot. We'll see what happens. What's funny is that I haven't been looking for a relationship at all, then I start hanging out with this one girl a lot and BOOM, doze feels start happening :?
If you decide to go for it, just remember that chicks really dig confidence.

Unfortunately, the only place I am confident is behind a drum. I get a severe case of diarrhea when I have to make the first move. It's awful.

There's nothing to lose! always trust your gut when it comes to whether or not a girl is interested, because a decent amount of the time they are! Just play it cool and ask her to hangout and go from there. Also, what school do you go to? i see your profile thing says Wilmington NC, I live in Charlotte.

I heard her BF lays down the thunder on the bass drum though, so I wouldn't talk to her.

This is what immediately came to mind when you said 'the thunder'

But I'm sure that's not what you meant
