The only way lifting will hurt your drumming is if A) you get extraordinarily beefy forearms, B) you hurt yourself, strain a tendon or pull a muscle, along those lines, Or C) you get so swole you become physically unable to fit your carrier on your body. Just make sure you keep up core and endurance training.

I'm that guy who says he'll try out for drum corps next year and never does.
But I'm totally gonna try to march Alliance this summer.

Ok thanks. How exactly will beefy forearms affect your skills negatively?

Can I post this in the General forum, as well?

It doesn't really matter what forum it is lol Honestly, I don't think it will play a huge part, only if the muscle gets in the way and tightens against the tendons and you can't extend your wrist or something. Seriously, you'll be fine.

So I don't have many facts besides personal anecdotes and broscience but I am not a fan of the bulk then cut idea because it usually ends up with people getting pretty fluffy over the bulk without getting their weights up and then the cut ends up being a half way cut and you sort of float around in a permanent state of half bulk half cut all the time.

So since you lift for your own enjoyment just lift the way you like. If that means heavy weight low reps or lighter weight more reps or whatever that is for you. I enjoy lifting somewhere in between haha, but my friend lifts like a power lifter and does 3x3s alot. So its whatever you want to do.

As far as getting abs or just losing weight, that's mostly cardio and diet sadly. The bane of all Bros. Good luck champ
