I've really been getting into Big Bang Theory lately, to fill the gap between binge watching Fargo a few weeks back and ''Better Call Saul'' starting in a few more weeks. Great show. Also, Donnie Darko is a really strange movie. Any thoughts?

Well, I don't watch a ton of tv... I'm more of a movie buff. I saw Whiplash, though... Talk about a really great movie!!! And the score is fantastic... I love me some Don Ellis. Loss by him is one of my favorite jazz pieces of all time. Alright, I'm done with my million tangents.

Was dying to see Whiplash but didn't have time to see it in theaters. Can't wait 'till it's on DVD though. Was never much of a jazz guy, but looks like an awesome film nonetheless.

It's the equivalent of Drumline in the respect that it's an unrealistic representation of how music works. But there's some damn good playing and music in it, and the story isn't bad either. I enjoyed it.

How so? The whole Idea of the gig at the end is very far-fetched, and I don't like Neeman's chances at ever landing another, but besides that... A lot more credibility than drumline, though I am a bit biased.

It's a movie; it is going to be far-fetched. And the whole "practice till you bleed" motif is a terrible idea, along with the abusive teacher. He got results, though, in an ethically scary way (UNT had a little talk show episode about that... )

That's why I loved it. A man who truly loves the art, doing anything to find the next great, and doing whatever it takes to mold him into a master, however traumatizing or abusive. Trying to find the right button to push, the right motivation... And it was supposed to be based off the director's experiences as a drummer in high school. The only part that really felt unrealistic was the gig at the end of the movie.

You'd have to be really stupid to run from a car crash in which you were nearly killed to go play a gig and kill yourself again. 10/10

Even the abusive bandleader is not too unrealistic. Exaggerated in the movie but Charles Migus was notoriously hotheaded.

He was so desperate to make it as one of the all time greats that he practiced until he bled, risked his life even, just to get the opportunity. He was truly dedicated to what he did...

For real haha I walked out of the theatre emotionally traumatized. Just the look in Fletcher's eyes at the end...

It ended so abruptly. My friend and I just walked out and she was kind of like "okay..." It was the weirdest thing

Simmons was the most terrifying guy. An incredible character. LOVED it. We also saw The Theory of Everything. Touching but there were a few hilarious bits.

I heard that was good, but my friend was hoping for more about Hawking and got a love story. I'm gonna see Birdman soon :D I heard that was really good as well.

After watching the clip I'm glad I didn't waste my money on this movie. I would have gotten up and
left the theater. :(

"Profanity is the attempt of a weak and feeble mind to express itself forcefully." Unknown

No way I would have put up with this abuse.

I'd rather be taught by this guy:

Your loss, man. It's a lot deeper than verbal abuse. He isn't a teacher, anyhow. So, Birdman won best picture, and honestly I din't like it much.
