advice please?

Posted: Sat Apr 12, 2008 6:42 pm

I'm in real need of advice. Ok, we don't have an instructor this year so it's my responsibility to teach the line. I made a few changes that me and my band director find to be for the better. All of the line likes these new ideas but one kid. He's come down to physical threats at me to stop trying to teach the line and reverse the changes. He's been telling me he's going to fight me for weeks and I refuse to. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against him and I'm not scared of him, but I don't want to get kicked off the line just because he's being immature. The lines really picking up on the way we play now and some of them only know that way, and I sincerely don't want to change what they like just for one child. I was wondering what all of you thought I should do? I've already decided to talk to our BD Monday.

That's the problem, my BD doesn't believe in cutting and I don't want him cut either. He's a good drummer and he's been hardworking up to this point. I think I just need my BD to back up the way I'm teaching the line and all will be good.

Yeah he didn't quit everything has worked out now and if we lost anybody we'd be a good bit weaker, our lines really small

Yea, he does seem like a jerk at first, but when you talk to him presonally, he's cool.

At least, he's nowhere on the dick level as Rudy Gowern.
Here we are, talking band!

It's weird how that can happen.
There was this dude that I hated. I just did not like him. I even said it to his face.
Somehow we shook hands and then became best friends.

Crazy?
