So, I'm soon going to be teaching a high school line that is about 15 in size (just battery), and they're fairly decent players. However, they're marching with mylar headed snares, tri-toms, and old worn-down basses.

Does anyone have any ideas for fundraising? Post what you've done in the past, any good ideas that you might try.... anything.

Thanks guys.

I really don't think fundraising's going to do much, since 1 quints+harness+tenor mallets cost about 1000 dollars...
how's your county's budget on music?
Stone Bridge Marching Bulldogs Drumline
07-08 pit (mallets)
08-09 center tenors

theres alot fundraising can do, do more than one fundraiser, start might look tacky but if your school (the one you teach) is willing to put up with what you currently have, then they wouldn't mind having a brand new set of quints maybe a snare but several other old ones in the same line. Make them start small.

Try seeing if you can get some from a local Div. II corps, they normally sell out when they get new stuff and it's never in horrible shape. They'll work with you too.

my indoor line sells cookie dough which seems to go over pretty well. Also my high school band sells magazine subscriptions and fruit which usually bring in a lot
