So our tech told us we are using Tom Aungsts this year, but said we would be using a green version? I've never personally played with these, so what are your guys and gals opinion of them?

It meens you guys are using the indoor version of the Tom Aungsts. They feel the same except are lighter due to the fact that they are indoor sticks.

I no longer like Mike Macs. I enjoy Shane Gwantley (sp) McNutts and MS5s now
I play and teach music (sometimes even band music!)

I work in music tech and licensing.

That's what I was thinking... Although it could be so we don't overpower the winds. We did last year, but this year we have another snare and quad and new drums, lol.

Has anyone else had any experience with the IP FS-2s? They're definitely some of my favorite sticks I've played with, but up there are the Gussecks, PR-2s and Casellas.

I used to play with the SSJ's but now i prefer the DC-50's because they are beefier than the SSJ'. Plus they all around sound and feel better.
It sucks that my instructor is part of the Vic Firth education staff, he's making us march SSJ's beacause he feels obligated to VF.

I use McIntosh's but lately have been wanting to try those Casella's I've heard so much about.

Casella's are meh IMO. I've always been a loyal IP guy but recently I've seen the light. Vic sticks just sound better. The Murray Gussecks (M-Dawgs) are absolutely the best sticks I've ever used. Feel great, really light, but the weight is perfectly distributed and they sound amazing. I'm still really liking the Paul Rennicks but it's been a while since i've found a pair of Innovatives that I really thought sounded great on a drum. That's the most important thing to me, after feel of course.

I think M-Dawgs have been flying under the radar. I understand they're new, but they are an incredible stick. My line uses Rennicks, both models, but I like to use M-Dawgs for solos, playing around, practicing, etc. They have a lot of weight concentrated on the back end of the stick, which gives them a drum set feel, but they are still some of the lightest sticks I've used. I march snare, but I also like to play tenors, so they have great versatility. I believe Vanguard uses them on both snare and tenors as well.
