Would you guys recommend the STA (Tom Aungst signatures) or SSJ's? I haven't tried either yet and i don't feel like wasting my money.

i think its great that the sticks are taped 4 times and yes it builds chops, but wouldnt it kill rim shot quality?

Aungsts seem to be a lot more consistent than Johnsons. Johnsons are generally heavier and more durable though. Depends on what you're looking for. I tend to prefer the Tommies.

I'm currently enjoying our old show sticks, hardimons. I own at least one pair of all vic and IP marching sticks, so far I really like:

Hardimons
Ms-2
Ms-3
Mcnutts
M-dawgs
FS-SG
AS-TF (discontinued) :(

I've used Hardimon's and standard Corpmaster's, and i just ordered some SJ's, next i'll probably either try DC50's or Jim Casellas.

i guess everyone has their preferences based on weight's, tapers, it all comes down to feel IMO. i've seen cases of people changing sticks simply because of different heads.
