I have been a member for quite a while, and I can honestly say that the friendly people here have been super helpful and informative, and have made me a better snurr drummer!

My ultimate goal is to have chops like Tim Jackson, yeah right, and march drum corp. Ever since I discovered it my freshman year I've been obsessed, and I've never wanted anything more.

I currently attend Sam Houston State University and I played on the drum line here in the Bearkat Marching Band.
I performed with the Madison Scouts, in the 2010 season, in the front ensemble.
After browsing the snare science forum for about a year I decided to finally make an account.

I have played kit drums for a little over 3 years I think now, didn't get into rudimental style drumming until last September when I joined the city marching band. The first marching ensemble I ever discovered was Rhythm X, their 2010 show absolutely blew me away. Around the line at band I was hearing stories about someone who went and marched Cadets, so I started watching more DCI oriented videos, and got hooked. That Cadets alumni ('09) is now my drum instructor and is helping me achieve my personal goal of marching in DCI. My main musical goal is to march with the Cadets hopefully in 2014. It seems to be the perfect place for me.

To change your picture, go to the UCP (user control panel) in the upper left corner. Then on the left side, go to profile. Then again on the left, go to edit avatar.Pearldrums wrote:Another question: How do you get a profile pic? I've tried and it didn't work. And how do you get the video to pop up in your signature instead of just a link?
As for embedding youtube videos, take JUST the last characters after the = and put it in between the youtube codes.
So click youtube in the bar when making your post, then paste those last characters and it should embed. Just to make sure, hit preview before you post to see if you did it correctly.

I know how to get to the picture area, but it won't let me put a picture in for some reason. I would like to put in one of those long, skinny Drum Corp things that everybody has.ARZiehm wrote:To change your picture, go to the UCP (user control panel) in the upper left corner. Click the search button. Type in "drum corps banners." There will be a link to DCP with all the world class, open class, DCA, and inactive drum corps.Pearldrums wrote:I know how to get to the picture area, but it won't let me put a picture in for some reason. Click on the download link for whichever corps banner you want in your sig. Then copy the url in the address box and paste it in between the image bbCode.Pearldrums wrote:.......It didn't work....... I went to the drum corps banners website and saw all of the banners, but it said to save the image or copy the link and I did both of those things abd it didn;t work.
This is the code for the Blue devils banner
Code: Select all
[img]http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/ssfblue/DCI%20Banners%202008/BlueDevilsBanner.jpg[/img]

If you have trouble just tell me the corps and I'll post the codes for you to copy and paste.

The url you have right now in your sig has 'url' in brackets around it right. Well just replace that with img. And if you're copy pasting a code then don't copy, 'code', just copy what's inside the boxPearldrums wrote:I feel so stupid haha. Alright so I copied and pasted the blue devils one that you posted and then what do I do? I pasted it on my signature and clicked on image and the code thing but it didn't work.
So it's pretty much going to look like this without the space:

I go to San Marcos High in San Marcos, TX and will be playing in the pit this year (Don't know what exactly yet), tho I do play and enjoy quads a lot more, I auditioned for them, but didn't make the line being a freshmen

Next year hopefully I will, and eventually I would love to march in The Cavaliers quad line!
I have been searching these forums for a good while, and have learned some great things, but just recently decided to make an account.
Glad to finally be apart of this community!
