I have been a member for quite a while, and I can honestly say that the friendly people here have been super helpful and informative, and have made me a better snurr drummer!
are you that guy from cornerstone?
considering that I don't know what cornerstone is, I'm gonna say no lol.

Hi, my name is Gabe, and for the past two years I've marched 4th bass on my school's line. This upcoming year I'm moving up to tenors and I couldn't be more pumped.

My ultimate goal is to have chops like Tim Jackson, yeah right, and march drum corp. Ever since I discovered it my freshman year I've been obsessed, and I've never wanted anything more.

I'm Tim and have been drumming since 4th grade. I started marching in 7th grade, and have been doing it ever since. I only really did it for the social aspect at first, but my interest really developed when our local college started hosting Phantom Regiment during the summer. I am somewhat of a bass specialist getting to march 2 as a freshman and 1 as a sophomore. I moved to tenors for my junior and senior year due to lack of competent drummers at my high school. I took my freshman year of college off, and this season will be marching big ol' Bass 7 for the WVU Drumline. I look comical carrying a 32" drum and being 5'8", but oh well! haha

Hello everyone, I'm Devin B. I live in Orlando, FL, and grew up here all my life. I'm currently a sophmore at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Music Composition. I've played bassoon for 9 yrs and percussion for 7 yrs. In general, I just love all music and enjoy exploring new techniques. etc. I just found this website and have learned a lot just from reading a few posts, so I decided to join up!

Hi,

I currently attend Sam Houston State University and I played on the drum line here in the Bearkat Marching Band.

I performed with the Madison Scouts, in the 2010 season, in the front ensemble.

After browsing the snare science forum for about a year I decided to finally make an account.

Hi, my name is Malcolm, from Burlington, Ontario.
I have played kit drums for a little over 3 years I think now, didn't get into rudimental style drumming until last September when I joined the city marching band. The first marching ensemble I ever discovered was Rhythm X, their 2010 show absolutely blew me away. Around the line at band I was hearing stories about someone who went and marched Cadets, so I started watching more DCI oriented videos, and got hooked. That Cadets alumni ('09) is now my drum instructor and is helping me achieve my personal goal of marching in DCI. My main musical goal is to march with the Cadets hopefully in 2014. It seems to be the perfect place for me. :)

This is probally a really weird question, but how many posts is it in between rankings before you move up? I'm at playin eights right now and I'm just wondering if there was a pattern or if people know how many posts before getting to the third rank.

Another question: How do you get a profile pic? I've tried and it didn't work. And how do you get the video to pop up in your signature instead of just a link?

To change your picture, go to the UCP (user control panel) in the upper left corner. Then on the left side, go to profile. Then again on the left, go to edit avatar.

As for embedding youtube videos, take JUST the last characters after the = and put it in between the youtube codes.

So click youtube in the bar when making your post, then paste those last characters and it should embed. Just to make sure, hit preview before you post to see if you did it correctly.

There was a thread that listed them all, but I can't find it. I'm pretty sure I remember though.

I know how to get to the picture area, but it won't let me put a picture in for some reason. I would like to put in one of those long, skinny Drum Corp things that everybody has.

Click the search button. Type in "drum corps banners." There will be a link to DCP with all the world class, open class, DCA, and inactive drum corps.

Click on the download link for whichever corps banner you want in your sig. Then copy the url in the address box and paste it in between the image bbCode.

This is the code for the Blue devils banner

Code: Select all

[img]http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/ssfblue/DCI%20Banners%202008/BlueDevilsBanner.jpg[/img]
and this is how it will look in a sig
Image

If you have trouble just tell me the corps and I'll post the codes for you to copy and paste.

The url you have right now in your sig has 'url' in brackets around it right. Well just replace that with img. And if you're copy pasting a code then don't copy, 'code', just copy what's inside the box
So it's pretty much going to look like this without the space:

Hi, my name is Jose, I'm 14 years old, and I've been playing percussion since 6th grade, but this is going to be my first year in marching band and I'm super excited!
I go to San Marcos High in San Marcos, TX and will be playing in the pit this year (Don't know what exactly yet), tho I do play and enjoy quads a lot more, I auditioned for them, but didn't make the line being a freshmen :P
Next year hopefully I will, and eventually I would love to march in The Cavaliers quad line!
I have been searching these forums for a good while, and have learned some great things, but just recently decided to make an account.
Glad to finally be apart of this community!

Hey, I'm Hunter Iemmolo, I'm 15 years old, going into my sophomore year in high school, started playing the drums in eighth grade and got addicted, then I went on and learned to play keyboards, (Marimba, Vibes, etc.). I mainly play Snare and Tenors, but I started out playing bass 3. I was born in Stonybrook, NY but I now live in Stuart, FL. Glad to be a part of the community!

Hey everyone, I'm Chase Dechnik. I'm 15 years old, and I'm currently going into my Sophomore year of High School. I got into drums when I got my first drum set back in 6th grade. My mom took notice to my progress on the set and decided to throw me into band. So unlike most kids who started band in 6th grade, I started in 8th grade. I've been teaching myself how to read music ever since, with the help of other people sometimes. I surprisingly got into Marching Band after only a year of band experience. Got put on cymbals unfortunately. I came back this year 10x better and got put on Snare Drum. So my main instrument is Snare Drum, but I can play some stuff on the Tenors too. So yeah, quite the interesting story I suppose? Haha.
