Any tips on playing 5:3? Having some trouble with the meter timing.

Depends on the rudiment, but usually it's slurred tap-fives or eggbeaters, in which case you just have to get a feel for where the accents are and then evenly space the inner-beats between them. It starts with having a strong feeling for the dotted eighth-note pulse and how that relates to a quarter note.

The modulations are a whole section of the "Rudiment Control" packet, where rudiments are fit into different accent patterns like that. Those are three examples.
