any ways to make the new slimpad quieter?

Posted: Sun Feb 01, 2009 1:02 pm

title says all, i just bought it too =(!

i'e tried placing on top of folded clothes to no avail.
i ear earplugs with it, but the problem is that it bothers everyone else in the house.

i realize that the sound is a great advantage to identify dirt, but what, if anything, have you guys done to mute the pad at least a tiny bit?

Put some type of cloth over top of it. :o

Use ScoJos. :o

Play on the other side. :o

Playing on the other side is probably the best idea. That's what I always do when I want it to be quieter.

Put it on a pillow as well as the other things the posters before me said ;o. It absorbs some of the shock/sound. :o

If it's possible, I just go out on my back porch and play. But if you have close neighbors or live in an apartment, a single layer of towel halves the volume, and doesnt dramatically effect the feel. Give it a shot.

I put my realfeel under the slimpad, then throw both on top of the bookshelf in my room and close the door. That's usually good enough for my family.

I've found that putting a thick text book under it helps

Went through this same thing myself years ago.

The solution is simple.......find a sold black, decently thick mousepad (like you'd use for computing). Invert it so that the smooth side (mouse side) is down. Use blue painter's tape to secure the mousepad to your slimpad. This will result in db's being reduce significantly and maintaining harmony with the family unit.

I did this on the gum rubber side of my double-sided HQ pad about twenty years ago. Still employ this method to this day.

Hope this helps!
