Vic Firth gray/neoprene 12"
EcoPad w/ snare 9" - sold it
Vader red gum 6" - sold it

I played on a guys Invader at camp, it was cool, but I don't really get all the hype. The rim is neato and everything but I still found it to be a little soft.

I've bought a bunch. But because whenever I take one to school someone ends up stealing it.

Why does everybody prefer the V3 over everything else. personaly, the slimpad with a laminate is by far the best feeling pad ive ever owned. IMO it feels the closest to a cevlar snare. expecialy with the laminate. i got the v3 for christmas and it is not near as articulate and light as the slimpad, plus it costs a fortune, its heavy, and you have to clean it. if you compare the feel of the slimpad w laminte to a kevlar, then do same with the v3, u can feel how slimpad is better than v3. i pretty much use the v3 as a place to put the slimpad on.

i own slimpad, v3, realfeal, and alittle version of the realfeel.

I own a VF double sided pad, V3, and I got a shuttle pad for christmas. I use none of them, since I have one of my school's tenor sets at my house :p

I have a Slimpad, might get a V3 when it dies of old age. It seems stupid to have more than one or two pads. There are better things to spend money on.

RealFeel Drum Corps Pad since late '95 early '96 and an
Offworld Percussion Invader V3 which I got for myself a couple of days before Christmas.
Both are great pads and I bought the Invader so I wouldn't ruin my RealFeel. That pad has sentimental value!

And 20-30 Pro-Mark pads, I worked at Pro-Mark for 8 months and accumulated lots of them. Now I use them for students.

I got a 6 inch RealFeel back in 5th grade (I never knew what happened to it, it just... disappeared... I left it in my locker then the next day it was gone. Never seen it since). I also got a 6 inch red Vater pad (which at the time I thought was the best pad ever, it felt so good to play on). In 7th grade I got a Double sided 12 inch Vater pad. (which I thought was the bestest better pad ever). Then a few months later I got an Invader, after playing on one at a concert band clinic that winter. I hope to get an Innovative Percussion pad at some point.

The Vater felt amazing to me, being my first pad, until I played on a snare...what a catastrophe..

I have 2 pads:

- One by the brand Peace. (It was the one I first got in 5th grade. It may not be a good brand, but I really dig it. It sounds more mylar-y than my other pad.

- The other is a Remo/Yamaha. it came with my Yamaha bell kit I got Christmas before last. It's more kelvar sounding than my other one.

I plan on getting a quad pad eventually. Any suggestions?

Well..as long as you get the big HH pad. You won't find a corps that uses the small block tenors
