I'm seriously getting in to this "HYPE IT" thing. I can really hear it as a call and response:

DM: F-O-R-T-E
Corps: HYPE IIIIIIIIIT!

Forte's staff has always been one for..."exaggerating" numbers in my experience.

I'm pretty sure 60 is like average for just snares for the world class corps so it's possible to have 60 for the whole battery.

there were 44 snares at cap reg's camp last year

there were like 75 at BDB's first camp this year

I relish the fact that if SCVC went to Finals, Citations weren't inactive, Teal Sound was still OC, and Cap Reg was active, there would've been cuts at semis this year and Forte would not have made Finals.

do you have a thing against forte or something? in most of your posts in this thread you say something negative about the corps, or try to put it down.

Seriously bro. I didn't even march with them and I'm offended by your posts. Yeah, I did try out. No I did not make it. But I do have great friends in that corps. It's like a family.

Dang Mel, you didn't make Forte? That sucks, I thought you just couldn't march cause of money problems.

It's a weird story, really.

Tried out on snare. Got a callback for snare. Couldn't make February camp. Switched my audition to rack. Made a video. Thought A LOT. No money.

Except all of that is irrelevant and we made it to finals as a first year corps anyway cause we're B.A and for the record we had a cap reg vet march with us this year. Ryan ring any bells? He had a blast and is so much better of a person then you. So take your comments elsewhere kid cause clearly they're not welcome here.

Way to represent your corps bro.

If anyone still has any questions about whether or not Forte was inaugural this past season or not, check out the field pass. The podcast is technically about the Texas corps in general, but it touches on the other 3 for like 15 seconds at a max, and the rest is info about forte, interviews, etc.

For those that have not seen it, http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_i ... a487331c62

So I highly doubt I'll be able to attend any open class camps because of marching band, so I'll be making videos. Yayayayay.

*sigh*

Yes I know Ryan. So I don't need a history lesson on who I did and did not march with in Capital Regiment. Sure he may be a better person than me, but that's your opinion, just like my opinions on Forte are mine are also shared by lots of other people. But let me just clear some things up real quick.

I have nothing against Forte at all. I am glad they had such a great first year. I respect all the work they did this summer to achieve that. I have other friends and former staff who were in Forte so I do respect the corps. I do not put them down in every post I make about them so I do apologize if it seems if I do. I couldn't be happier to see them in Finals and to have done so well. My comment about last years top 5 being in Open Class changing things was a broad comment. Yes I know they weren't there, but this is something my and Ryan talked about with Forte.

So I guess bottomline is...I have nothing against Forte. I never will. I do not put them down in every post. They are a great corps and I respect that. So please do hop off my back for stating opinions. I'm sorry this is a Forte hotbed, but I'm just stating MY opinions.

PM me if you need anything else cleared up. I seriously don't mind. There's nothing I hate more than being misunderstood and looking like d-bag cuc of it!

Hey guys, thank you ALL for support this season! Forte had a wonderful inaugural season, and I know every member enjoyed their experience with Forte. Point blank is we wouldn't have been so successful if it weren't for everyone supporting us, so thank you!

Hey Blake13, congrats on marching Cap in 2009! Great show, wonderful organization from what Ryan has told me. He said he loved the experience, so I'm glad you got to march with him. I'm not going to jump on your back for all the messages posted on here, because it would be completely immature of me to disrespect you on a public forum.

Whoever, I do feel the need to clear up a couple things, just so people understand. Jay wasn't brass caption head, that title was given to Andrew Lee the entire time. Jay was in charge of brass for a good two weeks of tour, however, he wasn't brass caption head. Forte is not Memphis Sound. Memphis Sound is still a drum corps, and MYPAA is still their overhead organization, they're just inactive for this season. Forte originally was just a new name for Memphis Sound, due to the move to Texas. However, it ended up changing into MUCh more than that; the birth of a wonderful organization. In November, Forte was just an idea. And it blossemed. Im not going togo in depth, but Forte is not the same as Mempho. Completely new board, equipment, everything. Everything that you saw on the field this year belongs to FORTE, not Mempho (minus keyboards, which where being loaned for this season). The general belief by shared by fans and DCI is that Forte is NOT Memphis Sound, so I'm not sure why you bielive it is. Being a vet of both organizations, I can assure that you the two groups are not the same. My experience with Forte was not the same as my experience with Memphis Sound, no where near. Just wanted to clear that up.

Thank you all for expressing your intrest in Forte for the 2011 season! Every corps grows after every year, but just how much that growth is owns up to the members. Good luck to all of you who plan on coming to audition!

So I'm still wondering how you guys got around not having to have an exhibition year? Don't interpret this the wrong way - I'm glad you guys did so well, I'm just curious. Was there a loophole that you guys went through using your roots from Mempho?
