Because of the change in scales of adjudication for the percussion caption over the years, it's difficult to pin down what exactly the "best DCI drumline" was, per se. But the only time a perfect score has ever been achieved in the percussion caption was by the 1987 Cadets, with a 20/20.hurt-a wrote:Do you know what the highest percussion ever has been?

Yes we, (Spirit) tied Bridgemen with a 19.2 at finals. I believe it was the first time ever that
two lines had actually tied, so they had to come up with a way of breaking the tie since there
was only one trophy. They decided to use the general effect score, so Bridgemen got to take
the trophy home. We had hoped they would use the execution score, which would have given
the trophy to us, but alas, it was not meant to be. A great summer with some great lines all
competing for the top spot. The top four corps were within a point of each other. Memories.
