SCV 2007 Warmups

Posted: Wed Jan 14, 2015 2:57 pm

Can anyone tell me what these exercises are called and where I can find sheet music for them, preferably full instrumentation, either free or to buy? Sorry if they are already in another thread, I looked, but "vanguard 2007 warmups" isn't a very specific search. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, a google search led me there before I posted the question... are those warmups for sure in the fresh perspectives book? I couldn't tell much from the preview, although I did see a couple titles that looked promising.

Bumping because I've checked through all of the stuff Gusseck has on Tapspace and can't find those three warmups, I really want the sheet music for these.

Wasn't 2007 a Mike Jackson or Brian Mason year at SCV?

Bill is correct. Mike Jackson wrote the battery book and Brian Mason wrote the pit book in 2007. The audition packet for the group that year was a free download, so I am sure if Mike still has it he wouldn't mind sending it your way you should try to contact him through his website.

Thanks for the confirmation James.

One word of caution, if you do contact Mike, the audition packet he sends may not contain the exercises you heard in the video. Many times the audition packet music is not the summer warmup music.
