Also, this forum is for the PracticePad feature of this site, not for the discussion of actual practice pads. Put that in the drum product review or general thread, please.

Yeah bdl has a back order right now, it should ship in 2 weeks... It is worth the wait, I love my pad! My ******* is basically a paper weight now because I don't like it at all compared to my Beetle pad!skywalker77799 wrote:I just ordered a double sided marching pad from them (their newest addition) today since it was free shipping and I thought "hey, 15$ off and a lot of good reviews." It's got 3/16" recycled car tire rubber on the top with a rim also made of tire, a 1/4" bottom side, and a wooden fiber core for tone. It should come within 2 weeks or so and when it does I'll update on how it feels.

Please report back and let us know how you like the pad. I'm always looking for new pads to add to my arsenal. As a side note, I bounced my Offworld off the floor yesterday in a local band room and not a scratch on it. I keep coming back to that pad even though I have the
"X" pad also. There's just something about the sticky surface that I like. Anyway, let us know more about the Beetle Pads.

The new model of bdl pads are wicked durable, I don't mind the wear and tear look to stuff like on my bdl travel pad. The new model is completely surrounded in recycled rubber so it is basically a tire! It is really articulate but since it is double sided and surrounded with rubber, the resonation is shorter than a regular beetle percussion pad. Of course the best part of the new model is how ecofriendly they are! The way the new model is selling, crazy amounts of tires will be kept out of landfills! The traction on the surface is great for immediate response if you are slicing at all, and the rebound is awesome! I have an "X" pad and only use it to hold my travel pad in place, total waste of money! I wish I found bdl sooner and save myself 60+ and just gotten a beetle percussion pad! The new marching model has a 1/4 inch recycled rubber bottom so you can practice orchestral or drumset along with the 3/16 inch top for more rebound and articulation and a rim for marching practice. Honestly, BDL is the way to go!Spirit Snare 80 wrote:Looks like they will be very durable, especially the corps pad that has no exposed wood.

Depends on what you want, for orchestral or drumset you can choose the 1/4 inch option in checkout at beetlepercussion.com , and for marching 3/16 inch is available, the new marching pads are great because of the rim and the top surface is 3/16 and the bottom is 1/4 inch so it is the best all around option... I like the wood look for my travel pad but a travel size marching pad is being released as well! If you do get one tell them "mcastrello" sent you, he will hook you up!Always Improving wrote:Does anyone know how thick the rubber is on the one sided pad? Also would you recommend the marching pad or the one sided pad?

I had a similar idea and the only place I could find was Elephant Bark from rubbercal.com ... good luck with it!crussell wrote:Does anyone know a reliable company or website to buy 1/4" recycled tire rubber material? I want to build a practice table for multiple snare drummers.
Thanks

It depends on the time of year and which pad is in production at the time, give it a week or two, if you keep up with the ig you can sometimes see which pads are being made, but when it ships for me it takes about 3 days to arrive.Sillo.Snare wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:09 pmI recently ordered mine on the 29th, how long does it usually ship?
