What are your thought about dating other people in the drumline? Is it a problem? Does is affect your playing and/or focus?

When I did, the only problem was feeling like a jerk when correcting her, and always expecting myself to be right and show good examples. Other then that it's all good.

Shutup and do it, like anyone else who marched with a girl. High-five.

pros: you can basically spend all of you time doing something you both enjoy together. Odds are you'll get to luck at her butt regularly. also, there are lots of late night bus rides coming back from competitions. those can be fun.

cons: if you guys are in a fight/ need space from each other, it'll be hard to maintain because you have to do band together. and, if you break up during the season it could cause lots of drama and other unneccessary things.

good luck figuring it out dudebroman

I have never seen inter-drumline relationships end well. Pit and drumline could probably work though.

Just break up after marching season ends.
But in all seriousness, it's all about how you yourself play your cards because it goes both ways.
On one hand your guys will share mostly everything in common and on the other, it could become awkward after the end of it.

agree with flamtaps...

I have have an unwritten rule that there is no dating during the season in our line. The kids sort of police it themselves, but I always tell them you don't want something stupid and petty getting in the way of all the work you are going to be putting into this. They also know that I know all and see all, and that I will bluntly call people out for any jack-assery that is being caused by dating. If they can be mature about it, no problem, but if not....

Sounds a lot like me last season... It wasnt that distracting tho... I played fine and kept my focus while playing but just every now and then I had to glance at my girl's butt 8)

because it is wrong grammar or because of what they said?

Not really an inter-drumline related story, but my senior year in high school I dated a sophomore band girl, and now that we're broken up and I tech at the school I went to and she's now head drum major and working with the line a lot, it can be awkward as hell. I don't really know what you can take from that, I just felt like sharing.

I dated a girl that was a saxophone player for most of high school (and still currently). Since we were in different sections we never spent a lot of time together during rehearsals except for breaks. Trips were always much more fun considering we spent the whole time together for the most part. And well checking her out during rehearsals was a plus too 8)
